What a lovely box - new website release.
Presentation packaging manufacturer GWD Ltd. of Harlow commissioned Toucan Internet LLP to redevelop their website to clearly display the company’s skills in making bespoke presentation packaging.

The new GWD website complies with all the necessary web construction standards for wide acceptance and the big sequencing display images are rendered using a technology that is functional on iPads and iPhones too as well as conventional PC screens. Don’t underestimate the growing number of users of these i-devices making buying decisions by browsing websites; so make certain your next website is as good on these mobile devices as it is on a desktop computer screen.

Noel Greenwood, Managing Director of GWD Ltd. said “Being able to clearly display our novel and innovative presentation packaging designs to customers is so important and the new website from Toucan does this so well.”See www.gwd.ltd.uk

RST Thermography - A Presentation of Heat

RST Thermography - A Presentation of Heat

The presentation by RST Thermography showed us very graphically how heat energy can be seen by thermal imaging cameras. The thermal camera can help identify hidden defects within the building not normally seen by the naked eye and therefore allows a far greater understanding of the condition of the building. The science behind Thermography Thermography is a type of infrared imaging science. Thermographic cameras detect radiation in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum and produce images of that radiation. Infrared radiation is emitted by all objects based on their temperatures; Thermography makes it possible to "see" heat. The amount of radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature, therefore Thermography allows one to see detailed variations in temperature (hence the name) and then captures this in pictorial form. RST will inspect your buildings an hour after dark, on a cold night to ensure the maximum difference between internal and external temperatures; this will then give the clearest picture possible and allow us to clearly see the heat escaping. The report will also give you a task list of works to be undertaken and arrange these in priority as to the most effective benefit to the running cost given the capital expenditure. These enhancements to the building could start at only a few pounds so changes can be made with little cost and with some major benefits almost straight away. Thermography – showing you how HOT you really are !!

Premises burnt down - how can I cope?

Premises burnt down - how can I cope?

Newport Business Association www.newportbusinessassociation.co.uk are running a business protection meeting. 27th January 2012. 7.45am Coach & Horses, Newport Essex

Protect yourself from disruption by having a business continuity plan.

A few years ago, the emergency services were summoned to a major warehouse blaze.

Fortunately there were no workers in the building at the time but damage to the premises was catastrophic.  The decision was made to invoke their full Disaster Recovery Contract and within a few hours key members of staff were working in their recovery centre as per a plan that had been previously written and tested.

They were prepared and able to continue delivering services in the face of a major disaster because of good management principles – would you be able to meet your commitments to customers in such a situation?

What is Business Continuity?

Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a process which helps organisations respond to, and recover from, any kind of disruptive incident.

Who should do it?

Every business, no matter what size, should have some kind of business continuity plan in place. This can be a very simple and inexpensive process, especially for smaller businesses.

Is there any help available?

Yes! NBA is bringing together and offering lots of free advice and assistance. Come and see our specialists on 27th January, Coach & Horses, Newport.

Why bother?

If you have even a simple plan in place, it will cut down on disruption and uncertainty, make life easier for your staff, give your customers reassurance, enhance your reputation and may even have insurance benefits.
